An ex-massage therapist for a high profile Cairns sporting team jailed for raping a client at his home, has been permanently banned from offering health services.
Clint William Curtis was banned from “providing any health service, paid or otherwise, in a clinical or non-clinical capacity” by the state’s health ombudsman on June 26.
It comes eight months after Cairns District Court Judge Joshua Trevino sentenced the 63-year-old to three years jail after he pleaded guilty to rape and to cannabis possession.
The sentence was suspended after nine months for four years.
His sentencing hearing last December was told his victim was a mother in her 40s, who had attended at least 35 sessions with Curtis before the digital rape occurred on 18 October 2023.
He ran a massage business for many years from his home.
Curtis, a father of two, also worked at Cairns Hospital as a wardsman for eight years until he was charged with rape and he resigned.
