A TABLELANDS community has been left heartbroken by the loss of young boy in a tragic motorcycle crash involving a truck.

Fourteen-year-old Irvinebank lad Andrew Beazley was killed on Herberton-Petford Road in a motorbike and truck crash on Tuesday.

Early investigations by police Forensic Crash Unit officers indicate the teenager came around a bend on the unsealed section of road and collided with a truck which was travelling in the opposite direction.

Andrew died at the scene.

The sudden death of the mad-keen footy fan and motorcycle enthusiast has shaken the tight-knit community.

Messages of support have streamed in from friends shocked by the young rider’s death.

Lifelong friend of Andrew’s mother, Carly Wallace, said the teen was out riding his new motorbike when the tragedy occurred.

“Linda is a single mum of four Aboriginal kids, Andrew was her oldest boy,” she wrote in a crowd-funding description she set up to assist the family.

“Linda is one of the most kind and compassionate people in this world and this tragedy is absolutely heartbreaking for her and her family.”

Ms Wallace published an emotional appeal for financial support on Wednesday.

“I’m fundraising this money to go towards supporting Linda and her children … to help ease the burden during this sorry time and (to) show my love towards my sister girl and her family,” she wrote.

“The money raised will go directly to Linda and her family to ease the financial costs of losing Andrew, as well as supporting her to have time off work to grieve.

“We love you Andrew, walk in your power in the dreaming now our little man.”

The teenager’s death follows a horror spate of fatal accidents on the Tablelands, including the death of Mareeba man Jeff Ali at Chillagoe, the death of Luke McDonald at Emerald Creek Falls and the death of Sean McMahon in a car crash at Tinaroo earlier this month. A Queensland Police Service spokesman stated investigations were ongoing. Already the Gofundme campaign has raised $10500.
