Two boys have been charged after they allegedly followed, threatened and robbed a group of children leaving McDonalds in Woree.

Two boys have been charged after they allegedly followed, threatened and robbed a group of children leaving McDonalds in Woree in February.

Cairns Property Crime Detectives on Tuesday arrested a 14-year-old Bungalow boy and a 15-year-old White Rock boy.

They allege the boys followed a group of younger boys leaving McDonalds, before threatening them and taking their shoes and other personal items, about 8.30am on February 28.

Police were able to locate the juveniles after canvassing local businesses in the area for CCTV footage to help identify them.

The 14-year-old White Rock boy was charged with three counts of robbery and one count each of stealing and entering premises with intent.

The 15-year-old White Rock boy was charged with three counts of robbery.

They will be dealt with under the Youth Justice Act.
