Emergency services are on the scene of a bizarre car crash inside a shopping centre that has put two people in hospital.

Paramedics were called to the Westfield Liverpool shopping complex in western Sydney about 12.30pm on Saturday after an electric car on display at the centre reportedly smashed into a Myer shopfront.

NSW Police believe a teenager was sitting in the vehicle within the complex when it accelerated forward smashing a glass panel.

It then reversed into the Myer department store hitting two people, the police stated on Saturday.

Photos from the scene show a red EV with a smashed front sitting incongruously in Myer’s female cosmetics section.

A man in his 50s suffered minor head injuries in the crash and a man in his 30 suffered chest injuries, the police said.

Paramedics took both men to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers have spoken with a 14-year-old boy at the scene.

He has now been allowed to leave with a family member but the police said inquiries were “continuing”.
