Man shot dead by cops near private school at Arundel on the Gold Coast
Chaos has unfolded outside a private school on the Gold Coast, leaving one man dead and two others injured.

One man has died after being shot by police and two others have been injured after an incident near a Gold Coast school.
Police were called to Cavalry Court in Labrador about 8.15am on Thursday after the man – who was wanted by officers at the time – was sighted.
He produced a firearm before fleeing in a stolen vehicle, which came to a stop on Brisbane Rd at Arundel about 9.30am, a Queensland Police Service spokesman said.
The man was shot during a second confrontation that broke out between him and police.
“Medical assistance was immediately rendered by police and paramedics who attended the scene,” the QPS spokesman said.
The man was unable to be revived and died at the scene.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson said two other people had also been injured in two other related incidents in the area prior to the man’s death.
A woman in her 80s was involved in a car and pedestrian collision in Clovelly Place at Labrador shortly before the incident with police.
She was taken to the Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition with a significant leg injury.
A teenager was also injured in an earlier related incident in Helensvale where he sustained minor lacerations from glass, Queensland Ambulance Service said.
It is not yet clear how all the incidents are linked; however, The Courier Mail reports the man was wanted by police after a carjacking incident in which he shot at police.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokesperson also said five crews attended the incident and initially treated the man in a life-threatening condition with chest and abdominal injuries.
The shooting occurred near independent private school A.B. Paterson College.
A resident on the otherwise quiet street told The Gold Coast Bulletin that he heard what sounded like three gunshots.
Roadblocks are in place between Arundel Drive and Marble Arch Place.
Motorists are urged to avoid the area.
Emergency services remain at the scene.
