Man crushed to death in horror forklift accident in Sydney workplace

The man was found trapped underneath a forklift at the workplace and was pronounced dead at the scene.

A young man has died after being crushed by a forklift in Sydney’s southwest on Friday morning.

Emergency services were called to a workplace on Powdrill Rd at Prestons after reports of a workplace accident.

When officers arrived, they found a man trapped underneath a forklift.

The man, who police believe to be in his 20s, was treated by paramedics but died at the scene.

He is yet to be formally identified.

Police have established a crime scene at the area and have launched an investigation into the circumstances of the man’s death.

“The incident has been referred to SafeWork NSW,” a police statement read.

A SafeWork NSW spokesman said inspectors were on site and investigating the incident.
