One of Australia’s largest retail brands has issued an urgent recall for a popular boys’ sleepwear product over fears it could easily be set alight.

Kmart recalled the Little Boys Sleep Twosie-Dino on Thursday after it was found the pyjamas did not comply with mandatory safety standards for children’s nightwear.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission said the product did not have the correct fire hazard label.

“There is a risk of serious burn injuries if the affected sleepwear is exposed to a heat or flame source,” the consumer safety agency said.

“Consumers should immediately stop wearing the product and return it to the nearest Kmart store for a refund.”

The twosie was sold between February 5 and February 26 this year across Australia and New Zealand and online.

The affected product is in sizes 2-8.

The ACCC has urged affected customers to contact Kmart.
