The leading No campaigner has detailed the attacks her family endured following the Voice referendum result, with photos revealing some of the damage.

Jacinta Napinjinta Price has revealed her family has become the target of “nasty people” who egged them and vandalised their home with paint-filled vodka cruiser bottles.

The leading No campaigner and Nationals senator told Sydney’s 2GB about the egging incident which occurred on Saturday night after the referendum result.

“I’ve come to learn that someone had thrown an egg at my father and some people had, at some point, thrown paint at their home,” she said.

Her father and mother David Price and Bess Nampijinpa had just concluded an interview on Sky News when she said the attack occurred.

“They shouldn’t have to put up with that kind of nonsense. Nobody should have to put up with that kind of nonsense.

“And hopefully that will die down and those individuals will wake up to themselves.”

‘So proud’: Jacinta Price’s parents praise Senator’s campaigning efforts

In the interview, Ms Nampijinpa told Sky she was “so proud” of her daughter for leading the No campaign to a win on Saturday night.

“Us as a family, we are all Australians and we believe that we should all be treated the same,” she said.

The next morning, Mr Price and Ms Nampijinpa found a container of red paint that had been thrown at the side of their house.

“It got onto our satellite dish on the roof,” Mr Price told NCA NewsWire, adding the vandals had to go through a closed gate to access it.

“They threw paint in glass bottles as well, one of which smashed on the gravel in our driveway. The other didn’t smash and the police took it as evidence.

He said the offending glass bottles were “vodka cruisers”. “That gives an indication of age and intelligence,” Mr Price said.

Ms Nampijinpa was also a Country Liberal Party politician and served in the Northern Territory Legislative Assembly from 2012 to 2016.

The latest count showed 61 per cent of the nation voted No and 39 per cent cast a Yes ballot.

It’s not the first time the Alice Springs based senator has opened up about the threats she copped while she campaigned against the Voice to parliament.

She said she received “death threats” after text messages purporting to be sent from Senator Price were sent to thousands of Australians encouraging them to vote No.

“I have had a barrage of really horrible messages today calling me a c**t and a b-word and all kinds of stuff left on my phone,” Ms Price Sky News last month.

“But it says more about who they are – not me.

“I carry the target around on my back, because they need me to. Because if I don’t well, who else is going to? People might be scared that they might be called racist – well I’m copping death threats.”
