A woman who vowed to “kill” Israeli patients and a man who claimed he had already sent Israeli patients to the afterlife have been stood down from their roles at Bankstown Hospital.
A post shared on Instagram showed a video call between an Israeli man and a man and woman wearing NSW Health uniforms.
“I’m gonna be really honest with you … you actually got really, really beautiful eyes, but I’m so upset that you’re Israeli, like eventually you’re going to get killed,” the man wearing scrubs told the Israeli man.
When the man asked why he was going to get killed, a woman also wearing scrubs appeared on the screen.
“It’s Palestine’s country, not your country you piece of s***,” she said.
“One day your time will come and you will die the most … listen to me when your time comes, I want you to remember my face so you can understand that you will die the most disgusting death.”
The man then said he had a question, and began saying “if an Israeli …” before the woman cut him off: “I won’t treat them, I’ll kill them … Not God forbid, I hope to God.”
“You have no idea how many Israeli … dog came to this hospital and … I literally sent them to (the afterlife),” the man wearing scrubs said while gesturing a knife through his neck.
NSW Premier Chris Minns confirmed the two people were workers at Bankstown Hospital and had been stood down.
However the Premier did not confirm whether the pair were employed as doctors or nurses.
NSW Health Minister Ryan Park condemned the video as “appalling”.
“The comments are vile, dehumanising and unacceptable,” Mr Park said.
“They made me sick to my stomach.
“I have asked NSW Health to launch an urgent investigation to identify the individuals and they have also referred the matter to NSW Police.
“If the investigation concludes that this behaviour has occurred, these individuals will no longer be working for NSW Health.
“These comments do not reflect the values of NSW Health or the broader NSW community.”
Federal Health Minister Mark Butler stood by Mr Park’s statement, and said if the people were proven to be NSW Health staff the action “that Ryan Park has foreshadowed against them is entirely appropriate”.
“It has been a core principle in healthcare, not just in Australia, but for a very long period of time, for centuries, that you treat whoever comes before you, no matter what their race, their creed, their religion,” Mr Butler said.
“That is just so core to the delivery of healthcare and the professional ethos of the wonderful doctors, nurses, health professionals that we have in this country.
“The idea that a couple of health professionals would say that they refuse to treat someone because of their race or because of their religion runs contrary to the most fundamental principle of healthcare.”NSW Police has launched an investigation into video depicting the anti-semetic threats, which is widely circulating on social media.
They are being assisted by NSW, who believe they have identified the man and woman involved.
“It is important that the community and police continue to work together to make NSW a safer place for everyone,” NSW Police said in a statement.
Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-chief Alex Ryvchin said the video was “sickening” to watch.
“Their unrepentant, gleeful hatred is the precursor to the violence we are experiencing in our country and it must be stamped out,” Mr Ryvchin said in a statement posted to X.
“It is this hatred and dehumanisation of Jews that causes wars and the carnage of October 7 and if left unchecked it will further degrade our society. Time for consequences.”
Zionist Federation of Australia chief executive officer Alon Cassuto agreed the video should “send a shiver down the spine of every Australian”.
“Health professionals, who take an oath to do no harm, threatening to kill and send Jewish patients to hell in our hospitals should send a shiver down the spine of every Australian,” he said.
“While we thank the NSW Government for their swift action, this is just another example of the systemic Jew-hatred that has infiltrated every sector of Australian society.”
