Police have blocked off a suburban street in Adelaide’s northwest following the suspicious death of a 60-year-old man.
Emergency services were called to the Medina St address in Taperoo about 8.40am on Sunday, before they discovered the man’s body.
No arrests or charges have been made, however a 50-year-old woman, who authorities said put in the triple 0 call, is assisting police with inquiries.
As of 2pm Sunday, major crime detectives and officers from SA Police’s Criminal Investigations Bureau remain at the scene.
Inspector Christie Matthews said police were not actively looking for other individual associated with the man’s death.
However, she said investigations were still too premature to confirm the nature of the man and woman’s relationship, and wouldn’t confirm whether it was a domestic violence related matter.
“There’s not thought to be anyone else involved in this matter,” she said.
Neighbour Kyla Vermeulen told reporters she heard a “bang that was like a rattle on a fence,” on Saturday night.
“I’ve been here 14 years and it’s been like a peaceful street,” the Adelaide Advertiser reported.
“It’s usually pretty quiet here.”
Inspector Matthews wouldn’t confirm reports of an earlier altercation and said police were still investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.
