Townsville fans of Aussie pop superstar Tones and I have been delighted by the news that the singer-songwriter will be busking at a ‘secret location.
Tones and I announced on Thursday morning that during her visit to Townsville as part of the Townsville Supercars 500 event, she will busk for 30 minutes on July 5 and “take photos with every person that has pre saved/ordered her album”, adding that she will “stand there until the last person leaves”.
In her Facebook post Tones and I said that the people of Townsville have had “such a huge impact on my heart these past few months”.
“Showing your support in numbers for me and my music,” she said.
“I would like to do something for you.”
In celebration of her new album ‘Beautifully Ordinary’, set to be released on August 2, the singer said those who preorder or pre save her album would be sent to a’ secret location’ to see her back in her busking roots.
The singer-songwriter, who’s real name is Toni Watson, became famous after videos of her busking in Byron Bay went viral. Her smash-hit Dance Monkey in 2019 solidified her as a rising star in the Aussie pop music scene.
Townsville has become a much-loved place for the singer, who was blown away by the support she received as the opening act for P!nk’s Summer Carnival Tour in March 2024, with two sold out shows in front of 60,000 fans.
She also added two Townsville shows in her upcoming Australia and New Zealand Tour at the end of August.
Tones and I along with G Flip and CYRIL will perform at the Townsville 500 Supercars event on July 6 at Reid Park.
