Emergency services were called to a home on Kootingal St in Ashmore at around 11.30pm on Monday after reports of an alleged robbery.
A Gold Coast police statement alleged five people wearing balaclavas went to the Ashmore home and three of them broke inside while the 53-year-old woman was sleeping.
It was understood the woman was woken by the noise of the break-in before she went to go investigate what was happening.
The police statement said the woman saw a man sitting inside her 2021 blue Porsche Macan before she went to try and stop him.
The man then allegedly assaulted her.
“The woman attempted to reopen the door at which point the male allegedly reversed the Porsche, dragging the woman a short distance along the front grass median strip as it fled the scene,” the statement said.
