A fire ravaged a Top End home before emergency crews could get to the scene.

St John NT operations manager Craig Garraway said the residents were not on the property at the time of the fire when fireys were called to the Humpty Doo house blaze about 3pm Monday.

“Obviously fireys extinguished that fire but I believe there is extensive damage as a result of that fire to the house,” Mr Garraway said.

Paramedics responded to two separate calls of scooter crashes in the Darwin CBD, both about 11.30am on Monday.

“We had a car and a scooter collide there, a female on that scooter, had a number of minor injuries,” he said.

“Our paramedics treated her but she didn’t want to go to the hospital so she was just treated on scene and left the scene.

“We also had another scooter crash, this one without a vehicle involved but a female has come off a scooter on Cavenagh St there.”

The woman received “a number” of facial injuries and was taken to the Royal Darwin Hospital for further treatment.
