About 11.10pm on March 14, police received a report of an alleged domestic violence incident involving a 44-year-old man and his partner at an Alawa residence.
Northern Territory Police attended and spoke to a witness at the front door of the home.
While speaking with the witness, police allege they saw the man – armed with a crossbow – which he was aiming at officers.
Police say they told the man to drop the weapon, at which time he ran into the rear of the home.
