With more than 30,000 military personnel from 19 nations about to participate in one of our nation’s largest ever war games exercises, Australian Defence has warned of the increased military activity.

Australia will host Exercise Talisman Sabre from 13 July to 4 August with significant areas of the Northern Territory involved.

“We ask the community to be aware, but not alarmed by these activities,” Defence said in a statement.

“Talisman Sabre 2025 will focus on multi-domain warfighting. Key activities will include amphibious and airborne lodgements, firepower demonstrations, and combat across land, air, sea, space and cyber domains.

“Leading up to and during the exercise period, there will be an increased presence of Australian Defence Force and participating nation’s personnel, aircraft, equipment and vehicles.

“Noise reduction and the environment are vital considerations in the planning and conduct of military flying.”

Talisman Sabre will utilise a number of locations across Australia and offshore, including both Defence and non-Defence training areas.
