UK man’s insane world record for everyday activity

A UK stuntman has broken an insane Guinness World Record at a British motor event for something Aussies do everyday.

A UK man has broken the Guinness World Record for the tightest parallel park in an electric car.

Stunt driver and precision driving expert Paul Swift was awarded the record after successfully reversing and squeezing into a small spot 35cm longer than his electric Mini “Mini-e” car at an insane speed.

Video of the record, which Mr Swift achieved at the British Motor Show, was shared to TikTok by racing driver Charlie Lower.

“Paul was so nervous, attempting the world record for the tightest parallel park in an electric car,” Mr Lower said in the video, which was viewed by over 3.5 million people worldwide.

The 43-year-old professional driver from Darlington was presented with a certificate from a Guinness World Record official at the event which stated: “The tightest parallel park by electric car was achieved by Paul Swift (UK) at the British Motor Show in Farnborough, dating 18-21 August 2022.”

In order to be awarded the official record title, Mr Swift had to also be within 12 inches (30.4cm) of the kerb at the conclusion of his parallel park.

The officiating team from Guinness World Records used specialist measuring equipment to calculate the exact distance and confirm the record.

The record breaking driver took to Instagram to thank his team and supporters following the occasion.

“Delighted to set a new Guinness World Record at @thebritishmotoshow today. Huge thanks to everyone who made it happen. Possibly more to come this weekend …” said Mr Swift.

The record was one of two broken by Mr Swift across the duration of the event, with the seven time British champion driver also achieving the most doughnut spins around a motorbike performing a wheelie in one minute.

Mr Swift has previously appeared in live action motor shows including Top Gear Live and the British Motor Show.
