This is the truly shocking moment a hatchback rams a ute in a road rage incident captured on video.
The video posted on Instagram took place at Liberty fuel station in Calista, in Perth’s southern suburbs, about 6.30pm on Friday.
In the video, a small grey hatchback can be seen trying to prevent a ute from driving as it parks itself in front of the car, causing a loud burnout.
Before the ute can make an escape, the hatchback quickly circles around, smashing into the side of the four-wheel drive .
The hatchback swiftly races away from the scene with its bumper completely smashed.
The ute folllows the hatchback before pulling over to talk to the person filming the incident.
The irate driver can be heard saying: “That’s my-” before the video cuts off.
Social media users were quick to speculate what had caused the incident.
“Let me guess.. that’s his missus,” one wrote.
“So the back story from old mate (had an axe in his passenger seat) was, that’s his mother-in law in the Astra and she’s just had a guts full of him going nowhere and taking her with him…. So some see a ... psychotic rampage, I see a proud mother hen moment,” a second wrote.
A third joked: “Could you get me her number, I’m doing a bank job Thursday and my driver has to look after his kids or some s***”.
Western Australia Police later told media both drivers are known to each other, and investigations into the incident are ongoing.
