Schoolkid drives $900k Lamborghini Aventador with L-plates
Drivers on a busy Melbourne freeway were stunned when they spotted a schoolkid on their L-plates driving a Lamborghini worth over $900,000.

Motorists were left stunned after spotting a teenager on their L-plates driving a supercar down Melbourne’s Eastern Freeway.
The black Lamborghini Aventador LP750-4SV, which retails at $925,300, was reportedly being driven by a 16-year-old who had just been picked up from school last Friday.
The famed Italian brand claims the model is the “most sports-oriented, fastest and most emotional series production Lamborghini” it has ever made.
The image of the learner driver was posted on Melbourne Car Spotters Facebook page.
In Victoria it is not illegal for learner drivers to get behind the wheel of high-powered supercars like the Lamborghini Aventador.
A spokesman for VicRoads told news.com.au that the “supervising driver is considered in control of the vehicle”.
All Lamborghinis are banned for provisional drivers (P1 and P2) in Victoria.
Social media users were shocked that the teenager was legally able to drive a car that goes from 0-100km/hr in under three seconds flat.
“This kid hasn’t even got a valid licence and is still a learner! This is like putting a learner pilot of 16 into a fighter jet and saying it’s good for experience! Lethal if you ask me,” wrote one.
But others disagreed: “It’s a great idea to learn in extraordinary cars so you have to be very careful with the accelerator. My kids all drove a variety of Turbo charged 2.5 litre Foresters, 4.2 litre Turbo diesel LandCruiser ute, various naturally aspirated Subarus”.
Some shared their own driving experiences.
One wrote “it’s no Lambo but I was still nervous letting my daughter drive my WRX”.
Another shared: “I learned on an international 686 tractor and various farm utes after that. But the first time I drove, or steered I should say (coz I was only a little tacker and not quite in school) was on a McCormick Super WD (tractor).”
While another joked, “I remember getting dirty looks with the L plates on the old man’s S1XJ6, but L plates on a Lambo is next level”.
The Italian brand is known for its premium sports cars.
A brand-new Lamborghini ranges in price from $200,000 for a Huracan to as much as $5 million for limited edition models.
In April the supercar maker revealed its newest weapon is unlike anything it has built before.
The Revuelto is the replacement for the wild Aventador supercar and for the first time Lamborghini has installed plug-in hybrid power in a production car.
