It’s understood the car had been stolen less than half an hour earlier after a separate traffic crash between the Audi and another car on Inala Avenue in Durack.

No injuries were reported from the earlier crash.

Hazardous smoke from the collision between the Audi and B-double truck prompted an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act on Tuesday night.

An exclusion zone was put in place along the Logan Motorway, encompassing Wembley Road off and on ramps, Station Road, Logan Motorway on ramp and Kingston Road.

Diversions were put in place eastbound on the Logan Motorway while westbound lanes are now open.

Motorists have been advised to avoid the area while those within the exclusion zone have been asked to stay inside and close their windows until further notice.

Investigations remain ongoing into both incidents, with police urging anyone with information to come forward.
