A man has been charged with high-range drink-driving after he allegedly crashed into three parked vehicles with two toddlers in the back seat of his car in northwest Sydney.
Emergency services responded to a car crash on Post Office Rd in Glenorie around 7.40pm on Monday after reports a BMW M5 had crashed into three parked vehicles.
Highway patrol officers pulled the 37-year-old driver over and noticed two children, aged three and eight, in the back seat of the vehicle.
Glenorie Rural Fire Brigade was notified of the multi-vehicle accident just after 8pm and sent two teams to respond and assist police and ambulance crews.
Two people were injured during the accident and were transferred to hospital, according to the fire brigade.
Police say the man returned a positive result during a roadside breath analysis.
He was then arrested and taken to Castle Hill Police Station where he underwent a secondary breath analysis and allegedly returned a reading of 0.224 – well over the legal limit of 0.05.
The man was issued a court attendance notice for driving with a high-range blood alcohol content and his NSW driver’s licence was suspended.
He will appear at Parramatta Local Court on June 30.
