A Melbourne man has blown six times the legal limit while driving with two young children in his car.
The 43-year-old was pulled over on the Maroondah Highway in Croydon at about 8pm on Sunday.
Police conducted a breath test and were reportedly shocked to find the man returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.312.
“To further shock them was the realisation that there were two kids in the back seat,” a police spokesman told 3AW radio on Monday.
There were two children – aged six and eight – in the back of the vehicle.
The 43-year-old’s licence was immediately suspended.
He will appear in court to face charges of drink-driving and reckless driving offences.
