An exciting new electric car brand has detailed three new models due to go on sale soon, and they would be very enticing to Australian drivers.

American electric car start-up Fisker has revealed three game-changing new cars.

The California-based company already sells its Ocean mid-size electric SUV overseas and is promising an affordable hatchback, dual-cab ute and high-end sports car by 2025.

The electric ute, dubbed Alaska, is one of the most exciting vehicles slated for production over the next few years.

Slightly smaller than popular dual-cabs such as the Ford Ranger and Toyota HiLux, the Alaska has an ace up its sleeve.

The partition between the tray and cabin folds as do the rear seats allowing owners to extend the tray into the cabin, which will help make up for its more compact proportions.

It is expected to be available in two versions: a short range variant can be driven up to 370km and a more expensive long range version can travel up to 540km on a single charge.

Prices are expected to start at about $US45,000 ($68,300), which is far below the circa-$100,000 LDV T60e, the only electric ute currently on sale in Australia.

The next model up is a small, urban focused hatchback.

Called Pear – short for Personal Electric Automotive Revolution – it promises to be a sub-$50,000 city runabout with a driving range of 160km and 240km for the cheapest model.

A longer range version is also planned. It should have a driving range in excess of 480km.

It will be built on a new low cost platform that uses a steel architecture. Fisker says that it’ll use 35 per cent less parts compared to traditional manufacturing.

According to UK publication Autocar, Fisker says the Pear’s interior will have “zero moving parts”. It has also removed the glovebox, and the centre console won’t open up.

This is so the brand can free up budget for must-have items such as a large infotainment screen.

The third vehicle from the ambitious brand is the Ronin high-end sports car, which claims to have some serious performance.

Fisker says it’ll have more than 745kW and will be able to sprint from 0-100km/h in a supercar beating 2.0 seconds.

Three electric motors and all-wheel drive will help it achieve this scintillating performance.

Fisker is also aiming for a driving range of 965km, no current electric car comes close to that. It isn’t expected to hit the streets until the end of 2025.
