New Territorian Jessy Hall recently switched to an NT registration and thought it was time to change up his number plate too, landing on W8N4AM8, translated to ‘waitin for a mate’.

“It’s from that hilarious ‘I’m just waiting for a mate’ video, it’s iconic,” he said.

“It’s about the dude crashing his car but obviously I don’t want to crash mine. It’s just a hilarious video, I love it and it’s pretty Aussie.”

Mr Hall said he’d had the number plate on his mind for a while.

“And it’s cheaper up here, it’s $500 down south and only $250 up here to get personalised plates,” he said.
