Virgin Australia has cheap new introductory fares

VIRGIN has entered the Alice Springs market with fares on the Darwin and Adelaide routes that are up to 30 per cent cheaper than rival Qantas.

VIRGIN Australia has entered the Alice Springs market with introductory fares on the Darwin and Adelaide routes that are up to 30 per cent cheaper than rival Qantas.

The new flights will be on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from March 30 using Virgin’s 176-seat Boeing 737-800 aircraft.

The cheapest Adelaide flights are $159 compared to Qantas $229, while Darwin flights start at $239 compared to Qantas $325.

Flights depart Adelaide at 12.45pm, arriving Alice Springs at 2.55pm, onwards to Darwin at 3.30pm.

Darwin departures are at 7.30am, landing 9.30am, onwards to Adelaide at 10.05am.

Velocity Frequent Flyer members will be able to earn status credits and Velocity points on these routes.

Business class customers and eligible Velocity members will be able to access Virgin’s Adelaide lounge and the soon-to-be-launched lounges at Darwin and Alice Springs.

Virgin flies from Darwin to five domestic destinations and to Singapore with Silk Air. Virgin also connects from Adelaide to seven domestic and three international destinations.
