JETSTAR Asia will begin daily services from Darwin to Singapore in April and travellers are in for a price-saving bonanza.

Fares as low as $91 Singapore to Darwin are up for grabs and Darwin to Singapore as low as $115.

The seven-day-a-week service will kick off on April 11 and run until the end of July.

Jetstar Asia currently flies Singapore to Darwin five days a week.

The increased services coincide with the arrival on Friday of a new Jetstar Asia’ aircraft complete with its specially designed Northern Territory-themed livery.

The new NT livery will promote the Territory as a destination on Jetstar Asia’s network. Jetstar Asia Head of Commercial, Francis Loi will fly into Darwin on Friday on the new aircraft.

The cut-price Darwin to Singapore Jetstar airfares come at the same time Virgin Airlines has gone head-to-head with Jetstar with its three-times-a-week Darwin to Bali return service from April 10.

Virgin’s service is seasonal between April 10 and October 20 and will add more than 1000 seats per week into this market.

Flights between Darwin and Bali went on sale with all-inclusive airfares available from $199 one-way.

Virgin has given itself a competitive edge on the Bali route, with the flights leaving Darwin at 9pm and arriving in Bali at 10.20pm.

The return flight is 3.45pm arriving in Darwin at 8pm.

Tourism Minister Lauren Moss said the additional seasonal flights were a show of confidence in the Territory and strengthened the links between Singapore and Darwin.

“This response to increased demand is further proof we are growing visitation through the tourism stimulus investment with more international holiday visitors getting on planes to the Territory,” she said.

“I met with Jetstar Asia in October to continue discussions about growing their services to Darwin and they have listened and responded.”
