A brand new “cottagecore” homewares range from a surprising store has caused a frenzy on social media.

Charlize Stella was a huge fan of the collection, with the social media user buying the mushroom plates, soap dispensers, salt and pepper shakers, candles, measuring spoons and mugs from the range.

The Victorian woman spotted them in her local The Reject Shop on Monday evening, advising her followers to “run don’t walk”.

Fellow TikTok user @autumnmooncollective pointed out the store’s “cutest” shopping bags that featured foxes and owls on them.

Another social media user, @gloomom, said she bought a few new cat plates after finding the “mushroom and woodland goodness”.

Other social media users were incredibly impressed by the range.

“Reject Shop is in their slay era,” one social media user commented.

Another said: “Uh oh … I’m in trouble. I love anything with foxes on it.”

“I went today and the lady looked concerned with how much mushroom stuff I had (I was also in a mushroom skirt),” one joked.

One added: “OMG I keep forgetting I need to go haha.”

Amy Eshuys, The Reject Shop’s chief operating officer, said the retail giant didn’t buy into short-term trends but they saw something in cottagecore and thus the Woodland Forage collection was born.

“We created this range specifically with last year’s Fairy Garden’s range in mind – we saw an overwhelmingly positive response on social media from users who loved the ‘Cottagecore’ aesthetic. We wanted to create something that built on that momentum and are really happy with what we’ve released. We particularly loved the strawberry servingware, and wanted to add mushroom tableware that complemented these,” Ms Eshuys told news.com.au.

“Every month we are bringing in new, unique ranges in home decor. We love that every time our customers come shop with us they can find something new, and mix and match new products with previous collections.

She said the response to the range has been “very exciting”.
