Is it just me, or is Kmart bringing Disco back?

Lately, Kmart has been going viral for their clothing and storage solutions, but an area they’ve always been killing it in is their homewares.

However, lately shoppers have been starting to notice trends emerging in the decor section, and they may have just officially gone too far.

Waves and disco balls and fake plants, oh my!

Kmart has a bit of a reputation for having just about anything you could possibly be looking for. But, would you still buy it if it happened to be a little… wavy?

Shoppers have started to notice that wave decor, which first started trending back in 2021, is taking over at Kmart, with just about everything from mirrors to candles and lamps.

But, if it’s not wavy, it seems to be disco ball themed, with highlights including a disco ball planter, and a few different light fittings to make your space feel like you’re ready to party.

Love it or hate it?

Brad Canning took to TikTok to share his take on this, especially taking aim at the seemingly never-ending list of wavy items.

Many commenters were on his side, saying they’d had enough of it.

“They need to relax with the wavy mirrors, there are like 20 different options,” said one commenter.

“It’s so done, like done done…screams I did my place in 2023,” another said.

“I hate waves so much, when will it endddddd,” said a third.

“Wavy is honestly so awful,” another person said.

But, others said they love the trend.

“Because it looks soothing, Brad. I want my things with waves!!” said one commenter.

“Wait the wavy desk mirrors are cute,” said another.

“no slander on wavy furniture pls,” another commenter said.

“but I still like the wavy,” said a fourth.

Disco is in!

The disco designs however, everyone was on board with.

“Disco ball mushroom lamp is my fav sits on my coffee table and it has 3 light dim settings,” said one commenter.

“They have a USB powered mini disco ball for ten bucks, it has a remote for all the different settings, I'm 34, divorced, single, no kids, But I bought it on Saturday. I love it so much,” another agreed.

“I got sucked in with the Disco ball candle haha,” said a third.

“Excuse me, I bought the disco plant ball to match my disco touch mushroom lamp,” another person said.

Some even said his video had the opposite effect - encouraging them to take a trip to Kmart.

“Disco ball planter is 10/10 and I’m influenced to go buy immediately,” said one commenter.

“I need that disco ball plant pot!” another agreed.
