Territory paramedics could see 2 per cent payrise in third year of new EBA agreement

NEGOTIATIONS for Territory paramedics enterprise bargaining agreement have seen their pay offer increased to a 1.5 per cent annual wage increase over the next two years.

It will be followed by a two per cent pay increase in the third year of the agreement.

The negotiations which took place over the last 10 months between St Johns Ambulance Australia, United Voice and independent representatives also saw clearer guidance on casual employee progression including meal allowances for missed meal breaks and a salary band progression.

“We recognise the tremendous effort our staff put in each and every day and we have been

committed to working towards a positive resolution for our people throughout this time,” the spokesperson said.

“The safety and wellbeing of our staff is our top priority and we have listened to the concerns and proposed a new offer to United Voice.”

Further changes to the negotiations will also see the introduction of domestic leave and alteration on how personal leave is accrued and deducted based on the hours of shift worked, as well as a proposal to introduce one day of professional development per year to eligible

paramedics.

“We look forward to continuing to work with United Voice and other stakeholders towards the

best possible outcome for all involved,” the spokesperson said.

A professional development allowance and reimbursement of the paramedic professional registration application have also been incorporated into the new offer.
