"More unauthorised signage?"
A Sydney Reddit user has taken to the platform after spotting a sign which looked like it would point to some sort of construction detour.
But, up close, it’s anything but.
“Pork roll, 100m,” it reads.
The poster, who clarified that the sign was found in Alexandria, questioned its validity as a form of advertising.
“More unauthorized signage?” they wrote in the post.
The sign is made worse when you realise there’s an ‘emergency assembly area’ sign directly behind it. Yikes!

“I know I am a Karen, but…”
Many commenters on the post were left fuming by the sign, saying it makes the road less safe.
“I know I am a Karen, but this stuff really strikes my nerve. Maybe it is because one of my previous jobs was safety related, but there’s just too many signs on the road, even official signs, so to start having ad signs designed to look like official signs it just makes the road less safe and it sets a bad precedent,” said one commenter.
“Snap send solve. Report it,” said another.
“Signage I would actually follow”
Others, however, praised the sign, noting how creative it is - and how good pork rolls are.
“Council are clearly telling you to eat that Bahn mi. Who are we to argue?” said one commenter.
“Reminds me of how every fire drill, instead of standing around like an idiot making small talk with colleagues I’d go grab a bite to eat instead. Makes this sign somewhat useful, except I’d already be at the banh mi place in all likelihood,” another joked.
“I mean it's a useful sign, directing hungry humans towards a decent snack/meal at a decent price, compared to all the other lunch options out there. It's also a good balance of carbs/protein/and fiber,” said a third.
“Signage I would actually follow,” another person said.
“When disaster strikes, but so does hunger,” said another.
Some were even critical of those mad at the advertisement, saying any form of critique was dramatic and unnecessary.
“Don’t snitch just smash a pork roll,” one commenter said.
“Australians make you think they're ‘fun-loving larrikins’ but in reality, we're just a bunch of uptight citizen cops,” said another.
