‘Where’s the rest of it?’ The Project star Sarah Harris revisits racy fashion shoot with THAT dress

The Project co-host Sarah Harris recalls what happened when she wore a daring outfit on the set of a major fashion shoot, leaving her team ‘begging’ her to ‘put on a shawl’.

While Sarah Harris is used to being on the set of fashion shoots, The Project co-host admits that sometimes, other people in the room weren’t quite as certain that the result would end up being on brand.

Harris, who was fronting morning talk show Studio 10 at the time of a memorable 2020 shoot with Stellar, recalls her outfit showing “so much skin – maybe too much for a morning TV host”.

“I remember the poor publicist on set was hyperventilating into a paper bag and begging me to put on a shawl! It was hilarious,” the 43-year-old tells Stellar, in the Fashion Files.

“I loved this shoot. It was pretty daring but totally fun to be wrestled out of my tattered activewear to try something way out of my comfort zone.”

Yet even she was shocked by one of the proposed dresses – which the mum-of-two lovingly labels “THE DRESS” – admitting it was her turn to hyperventilate into a paper bag when she saw it.

“Ahhh, yes. When uber stylist Kelly Hume showed me this on the hanger, I remember thinking ‘GEEZ WHERE’S THE REST OF IT? I CAN’T WEAR THAT, I’M A MUM.’”

However, Harris trusted the process, and ended up pleased with the way the outfit looked on her.

She says: “I loved the shots and learnt a good lesson that day. Mums are sexy!”

Harris says shoots “always feels like a Cinderella moment”, and getting glammed up is a lot of fun. “Who needs a fairy godmother when you’ve got a crack team of hair, make-up, stylists and photographers ready to work their magic?” she says.

“Despite the serious ‘model stare’, I laughed a lot on [her 2023 shoot]. Then, poof, I was back to being a pumpkin by school pick-up.”

Even though she loves a sexy dress, Harris is also partial to a killer suit that gives “strong boss lady vibes”.

“I felt super confident in these clothes. Like I could move mountains,” she says of her 2022 shoot.

“Or, as my kid brother put it in the Instagram comments [after she posted the photo], ‘When you have an interview with Stellar at 1pm and have to climb Mount Kilimanjaro at 4pm …’ Shut up, bro – it’s farshun.”
