Salvation Army NT community and fundraising manager Kevin Wrigley said the ride gave people the chance to donate food and toys which could help make a struggling family’s Christmas enjoyable.
“The special thing about it is it’s not something you see on a daily basis, it’s a unique event,” he said.
“It’s a good way to raise awareness on obviously people want to see all these bikes, have a ride, you’ve got Santa on a bike and you get into that Christmas spirit.”
The first throttles at the Toy Run will be pulled at 4pm at NT Motorcycle Centre today.
