'We have 27 screens between six of us' confesses 'iPad kids' mum

“The only time we limit screen time is Monday through Thursday."

Why my kid's getting a dumb phone — and I'm not sorry!

We all likely know an iPad kid… but this? This is a whole iPad family.

A mum has sparked controversy online after revealing the staggering number of screens in her household.

Bailey Daugh shared her haul on TikTok and it's likely enough to launch a small tech startup. Or at least lose a charger daily.

iPads for everyone!

“We are a family of six and we are raising a bunch of iPad kids,” she said.

“I’m going to go ahead and show you all of our electronic devices in our house to make you feel a little bit better about yours.”

And wow, is the list extensive.

  • Her 2-year-old: an iPad.

  • Her 5-year-old: an iPad and an AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) tablet.

  • Her 7-year-old: an iPad.

  • Her 10-year-old: an iPhone and an iPad.

  • Her husband: an iPad, iPhone, and Apple Watch.

  • Bailey herself: an iPad, Nintendo Switch, Apple Watch, iPhone, and MacBook.

It doesn’t stop there.

“Each of the two older boys have a PS5 (playstation). My husband has an Xbox series X and a PC,” she continues.

Oh, and then there’s the wildcard screen that pops up in nearly every room.

“How many TVs do we have?” Bailey asks her husband off camera.

“We have nine TVs throughout the entire house.”

It takes their grand total to 27 devices between the six of them.

Despite the abundance of screens, Bailey insists they do enforce boundaries:

"iPads are raising your kids"

The comment section lit up.

“GIVE THAT TWO YEAR OLD A BOOK”  One person demanded.

Another bluntly wrote “don’t let this life find me.”

“You’re not raising iPad kids. The iPads are raising your kids,” a third criticised.

But not everyone was critical. Some viewers were right there with her in the tech trenches.

“Same! Six TVs, a screen on the fridge, a skylight, seven iPads (the dog has one) , three phones and three Apple Watches,” one parent shared.

“Nothing is wrong with raising an iPad kid as long as mum and dad are still actively engaging with them and not using the iPad as a substitute for human interaction and discipline,” a second defended.

According to Raising Children Australia, babies under two shouldn’t have any screen time at all, unless it’s for video chatting.

For kids over two, it’s recommended that adults model healthy tech habits, like turning phones off during meals and balancing screen time with outdoor play.
