Tragedy struck St. Lucy's School for disabled children in Sydney's north when a ten-year-old child lost their life in a horrific accident.
Emergency services responded to the call for help at 2 pm when a child was found trapped beneath a lift on the school's premises.

Kuring-Gai Police Area Command officers arrived promptly at the scene and are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the tragedy.
“Officers attached to Kuring-Gai Police Area Command arrived to find a ten-year-old boy trapped under a lift,” a police statement said. “Police remain at a school in Wahroonga following the death of a child.”
The authorities assure there is no ongoing risk to the public related to the incident.
As the investigation unfolds, law enforcement officers are making efforts to contact the child's parents, recognising the sensitive nature of the situation.
