‘She said, I love you so much mama… then my baby was gone‘

“I don’t know how to live without her. My heart has a wound that will never heal,” the devastated mum revealed on TikTok as her four-year-old daughter passed away.

Luna was only four years old when she passed away from cancer, and according to friends and family, the tiny girl “lit up the room”.

“Her smile was so contagious and gave you the warm fuzzy feeling of happiness, sure to make you laugh when you were around her,” Cheryl Miller, a friend of the family wrote on Go Fund Me.

But her bright, strong spirit met its biggest challenge when Luna suddenly became ill in September 2022.

The symptoms were strange: the left side of her body was weak, her gait was off-balance, the left side of her face was suddenly drooping.

“Her parents immediately took her to the ER,” Cheryl wrote. ”That day, they got the devastating news that a brain tumour on the right side of her brain was affecting the left side of her body.”

The tumour was inoperable. “She won’t survive this,” the oncologist told the heartbroken parents.

Four-year-old diagnosed with cancer

Since that horrible day, Coral has been sharing regular updates on TikTok, posting video of Luna in hospital as she played, and then deteriorated, until finally, in May, the little girl fell into a coma.

“The day before she went into a long six-week sleep before her passing,” the heartbroken mum captioned a video of her cuddling with her daughter.

“I love you so much,” the little girl said. “But now, I’m sad.”

In the final days of her life, the focus was making her comfortable as they waited for her to pass away.

“Luna continues to make this path on her own and on her own timeline,” Coral captioned a heartbreaking video that showed her and Luna lying in bed, foreheads touching as Coral stroked her little girl’s face.

Then came the day Luna passed.  To remember her daughter, Coral posted a video of Luna in her hospital bed in the early days of her diagnosis, swaying and shaking a musical instrument as a visitor played guitar and sang. “Forever 4,” the caption read.

“I love you forever and ever,” Coral continued. “You fought a good fight, one you never should have had to fight.

“You fought so bravely until your last breath you took in my arms. I don’t know how to live without you.”

Four-year-old girl’s sudden cancer diagnosis

It only took 10 months from diagnosis for the cancer to take Luna’s life.  After the first emergency room visit, she was transported to a hospital in Los Angeles to meet a team of paediatric neurosurgeons.

“They were told the tumour was inoperable because of its size and location,” Cheryl explained.

“The tumour showed all signs of being malignant… After six days at the hospital, Luna went home, and on September 21, the pathology results arrived. Luna’s tumour was a high grade astrocytoma/DMG grade 4.

"They were told her prognosis was very poor. The oncologist’s words were something that no parent should ever have to hear about their child. ‘She won’t survive this,’ he said.”

Coral and her family are now facing life without Luna. The mum continues to share updates, bringing her daughter’s ashes home, having a special mementos made so she can keep her daughter close.

In one video, she shared a special necklace that pumps with the audio of Luna’s heartbeat, which was recorded in September.
