'Now you got two eyebrows!' Mum waxes 3yo as 'basic grooming'

"Mothers are their daughters' first bullies in a way," a woman wrote when she shared the viral waxing clip.

Mum shares video to TikTok of her waxing her three-year-old's eyebrows

Mum Leah Garcia  captured herself waxing three-year-old daughter Bliss' unibrow, and TikTok lost its mind.

That was back in 2022, when the mum explained she'd been severely bullied throughout her childhood for having a unibrow, so she'd taken to waxing Bliss' to protect her daughter.

The video resurfaced again this week on X, where one outraged woman accused Leah of "bullying" - in a post that's now been viewed over 20 million times.

"Mothers are their daughters' first bullies in a way," she wrote.

"Kids can be cruel"

In the X comments, people raged, or were pragmatic.

"So you want her to be bullied at school?" one asked.

Another added diplomatically, "I can be both sides, and she shouldn't have to do it, but kids can be CRUEL."

But this person wasn't impressed with Leah at all: "Guys, this girl is THREE YEARS OLD!! If she was a preteen, then yes ABSOLUTELY help your child out! But this is a preschooler! They don't care about this stuff yet."

Leah had captured her original post: "My fellow mexicans, y’all understand!

"I don't care! I don't care! I'd rather y'all call me a bad mum before I let my three-year-old walk around with a unibrow like my parents did!"

The 17-second clip shows Leah applying a wax strip to the space between her daughter's eyebrows and then pulling it off to remove the hair.

Many viewers related to the clip, declaring they also struggled with excess facial hair as kids.

Several people commented, "She will thank you someday," and Leah responded with video evidence confirming their predictions were correct.

"She actually already did," she captioned the follow-up video.

"This was her first wax, almost a year ago. She sees me waxing her big sister and wants to be like her."

The clip shows her daughter, much younger, having her eyebrow waxed.

Leah says, "No unibrows around here!" as she applies the wax.

Once it's done, the little girl turns to her mum and says, "Thank you," to which Leah replies, "You're welcome."

Leah's response to the waxing backlash

Of course, there were also many disapproving viewers on both the original clip and the re-share on X, such as from this person: "I mean she’s YOUR child you do what you want."

At the time, Leah said, 'People say I'm projecting my own insecurities onto her, and that I should teach her not to care what people think, but at the end of the day she's human, and as much as we want to say what people say doesn't bother you, it does.

"It is a hard thing to come back from and I'm just preventing that trauma, like any parent would want to do."
