My toddler is almost my height, but she's only 18 months old

"Magnolia is very advanced for her age," proud mum Clara shares.

Clara Thomas' 18-month-old daughter Magnolia is tall for her age - she's about 91 centimeters.

 

 

 

Her height makes her almost as tall as her mum, and taller than her three-year-old sister.

However, Clara and her partner, Arthur Thomas, share they were not expecting Magnolia to reach this height, so early.

Stay at home mum Clara told Caters News that Magnolia hit that height at age one - and has remained there with the same weight, ever since.

"Magnolia is very advanced for her age"

Magnolia can share clothes with her big sister, but not shoes, Clara shared, adding that her youngest daughter needs new shoes every month.

Those who are concerned there's a medical issue behind this huge growth spurt can be assured there is none, with Clara reporting that her doctors told the family that she is in the 99th percentile of children her age for both weight and height.

The young toddler is also "very advanced for her age," as she has very developed gross motor skills, being able to brush her own teeth and open doors, for example.

"Her sister was the same way"

Magnolia's parents say they are also "impressed" with her speech, claiming Magnolia can already speak in small sentences.

Proud mum Clara added: "She affectively communicates all of her needs. Her sister was the same way."

She continued, "Magnolia is such a joy to be around. She says 'Hi' to every person we pass in town, and she gives the best bear hugs!

To know her is to love her, and we are beyond thankful for her and her sister."

Baby crawling at three days old

Speaking of advanced children, last week, a story of a newborn went viral because its mum reported she was crawling, "talking" and lifting her head.

In a seemingly new TikTok account, mum Samantha Elizabeth shared footage of her newborn, Nyilah Daise, which she's captioned, "I still can't believe this happened."

Text over screen reads: "POV your daughter is three days old, and is lifting her head, crawling and talking."

The video has a massive 41 million views, and 55k comments. Many viewers were utterly amazed by what they saw, and wrote supportive comments.

But some of the comments suggest a basic, common reason for the remarkable footage: newborn baby reflexes.

Nurses and mums explained that commonly witnessed such reflexes, and their child did the same things, because of the movements were about seeking comfort and food.

"I'm a midwife, I can confirm there's nothing wrong, this is natural," one wrote.
