Choosing the perfect name for your newborn can be tricky if you want something that’s a bit unique and isn’t in the top 10 baby names list.

But one mum’s choice for her unborn son’s moniker was a bit too adventurous for some people, with online commenters saying it “sounds like a … male stripper”.

After a picture from the mum’s baby shower was shared on a Facebook group, viewers immediately noticed the name she chose for her child, The Sun reports.

The image shows the mum sitting proudly in front of a sign announcing the name she was planning to use – Rowdy Johnson.

Rowdy Johnson is also the name of a US country singer. It is sometimes used as a nickname for the names Robert or Roderick. It’s a gender-neutral name, though more common with boys, with around one in every 10,000 baby boys in the US named Rowdy.

But, regardless, Facebook users were quick to fire back their displeasure with the choice of name.

“Sounds like a stage name for a male stripper. ‘And up next to the stage tonight is Rowdy JOHNSON!’” one commenter wrote.

“Rowdy Johnson? Sounds like a username on Only Fans,” a second said.

“When you just go ahead and give your baby a porn name so that they won’t have to think up their own later,” a third person wrote.

Meanwhile another mum didn’t see the funny side.

“If I ever meet a kid named Rowdy in real life I am going to make it known to the mother that I am judging her,” she commented.

“My sister’s dog is literally called Rowdy,” wrote someone else.

“I’m sure he’ll be taken seriously when he applies for jobs using that name,” another said.
