Influencer, 31, covered in blood after gruesome accident

A Byron Bay influencer has been left shaken and with a bloodied shirt after going through a traumatic parenting ordeal.

Ruby Tuesday Mathews was left covered in blood this week following a gruesome shower accident with her two-year-old daughter, Holiday.

The 31-year-old influencer from Byron Bay has two children, Rocket, aged nine, and Mars, aged eight, with her ex-partner Ryan Heywood. She also shares a daughter named Holiday with her fiance, Shannan Dodd.

Mathews posted a photo on Wednesday where her white cotton T-shirt was so heavily stained with blood that it looked almost like a tie-dye pattern.

The entire left shoulder of the T-shirt was soaked in blood, with splatters visible on the right shoulder too.

“So yesterday afternoon, Holiday was having a shower after dinner with Rocket, and smacked her face into the wall,” she wrote in the image’s text.

She said her daughter’s front tooth was knocked “completely out from the root”.

“Literally nothing can be done because it’s literally a baby tooth,” she explained.

“Hot tip, if any child ever loses or snaps a tooth, put it straight into milk.

“If you can, push the teeth back into place immediately before swelling occurs. Off to the dentist this morning.”

Storing a knocked-out tooth in milk can indeed work as a temporary measure until you go to a dentist.

The calcium and neutral pH in milk protect the cells of the tooth, providing it with the best chance for survival.

Acting quickly is crucial and can determine whether a tooth is saved or lost.

In videos later added to her Instagram Stories, the mum described the “extremely intense afternoon … and night” that followed.

Having changed out of her messy clothes and dressed in a clean white T-shirt, she appeared to still be in shock after the incident.

“I’ve just dropped Rocky to the bus stop and we are going to go take Holiday to a dentist, even though you can’t do anything,” she said, shaking her head.

“Just, to like, not have a tooth in the front of your mouth for like five years when you have the cutest f**king smile is heartbreaking.

“She was so strong and brave but I can’t even … Anyway, life lesson: if you ever have a tooth thing with a kid, or an adult … put it straight into milk.”

She then looked shaken as she processed the events of the past 24 hours.

“You just never know what life is going to throw you when you have kids. Are they going to vomit, s*** themselves, or you’re going to get a call from the school right before whatever you’ve got planned?” she said with a sigh.

“The variables with three kids, it just goes out the window,” she continued.

“It feels like a lot!

“I’m having a moment before I go inside to see everybody else, which is Mars, Holiday, and Dodsy.

“Then Shannan and I are going to go tackle Holiday, who just keeps asking ‘Where’s my tooth?’”
