‘I spent over $600 for my daughter’s birthday - not a single person showed up’

“It's f**king sad, it really is. And I'm upset with my family and I feel bad for my kids,” the mum-of-five said.

A mother has been left heartbroken after no one showed up to her son’s birthday party.

Anber, a mum-of-five from the US, was excited to celebrate her daughter’s birthday and got everything ready well in advance.

Earlier that morning, she double-checked the RSVP list; several people confirmed they were going to attend the party, which was scheduled at 2pm that afternoon.

Mum heartbroken after nobody shows up to kids' birthday party

“My expectation was not at all that nobody was gonna show up”

“Everybody RSVPd the morning of [the party],” she explained.

Her father was on the list, as was her brother and several of her daughter’s friends.

In a now-viral clip, you can see how decked-out the party was.

There were balloons and party decorations dripping from every corner of their family backyard and plenty of snacks and food to feed everyone.

There was even a jumping castle!

Overall, Anber spent a whopping US$400 (AU$605) on the party.

However, as the hours passed, there was still no sign of any attendees. After a while, the mum-of-five realised that no one was going to attend.

Not one.

“My expectation was not at all that nobody was gonna show up,” she said.

To make matters worse, none of Anber’s immediate family turned up either, so it was safe to say she was devastated by the outcome.

“I was literally crying hysterically that nobody showed up for my daughter when I had just confirmed with everybody that they were showing up,” she said, per The Sun

“It's f**king sad, it really is. And I'm upset with my family and I feel bad for my kids.”

While Anber ended up losing more than $600 organising and setting up the party, she wasn’t worried about the money.

“I was p**sed that I spent $600 (US$400) on just catering,” she began.

“But it really had to do with, like, I had to explain that to my older kids that understand and why my daughter doesn't get the same treatment as the rest of my kids do.”

According to the heartbroken mother, her eldest children will receive better treatment from her family than her younger kids; a devastating twist in an already upsetting saga.

“It literally has to do with my child,” she said. “And it's really f**ked up, but it does because everybody shows out for my two older boys.

“Nobody wants s**t to do with my daughter. And it's really sad, and I can't stand it.”

“But that's really all it is.”

“All I know is that people suck”

After the party was supposed to finish, her family members who RSVPd to the party but failed to show up offered up their excuses, but Anber wasn’t having any of it.

“My dad did end up saying that he didn't feel well, all of a sudden, and could not show up,” she explained.

“He ended up coming to see her three weeks after her birthday, and he gave her a present.”

Her brother, on the other hand, reportedly “did not wanna wake up” for his niece’s birthday, so never ended up attending.

“They did try to call me at midnight that night,” she said. “I didn't answer the call 'cause it's like midnight and I don't wanna hear your lame-ass excuse on why you retired.”

And as for the other friends who said they were planning to make an appearance? They backed out because they were “too hungover.”

The entire ordeal has soured her idea of friendship altogether.

“All I know is that people suck,” she said.

In response, Anber was met with an outpouring of love and support from strangers across the globe.

“You’re a p**sed-off mum, I don’t blame you for making a video to talk about it,” someone said.

“Your family should feel like s**t because that’s a child and I’m really sorry.”
