DARWIN foodies and laksa lovers will be thrilled to hear that the Parap markets will be returning this Saturday after a six week hiatus.

Organisers said the Parap Village Shops and Saturday Markets were set to recommence on Saturday, May 9 from 8am to 2pm with their essential food, fresh fruit and veggie stalls. There will be no arts and crafts stalls set up at this stage.

Manager Kylie McCourt said organisers were working with the Health Department to ensure strict measures for social distancing were in place this Saturday.

She said there would be 30 stalls set up this weekend compared to the 80-100 stalls the markets normally had during the dry season.

“The famous laksas will be there but we’re asking people to refrain from bringing in reusable bowls and cups at this stage,” she said.
