The president of the Northern Territory Police & Citizens Youth Club has announced the organisation will close permanently.
This follows a temporary closure that commenced in July last year.
PCYC president Brett Prowse said he believed the club was solvent and expected to pay debts in full within 12 months of the voluntary winding up.
He attributed the shut down to not having money to fix its buildings.
“The closure of the PCYV is attributed to increasing financial difficulties arising from workplace health and safety concerns, particularly around ageing infrastructure in need of significant repairs and exacerbated by Cyclone Marcus, rising cost structures, operational challenges and the inability to secure adequate funding.
These significant challenges have left PCYC in a precarious financial position with limited capapcity to meet current and ongoing liabilities.
Mr Prowse said formed in 1955 and the PCYC wanted to acknowledge the contributions of past and present committee members who have volunteered countless hours in support of the club, and the considerable financial and in-kind support provided by NT Police.
