'Never eating there again': 'Disgusting' sight at popular pizza chain

"That's my last order, ever."

Sydneysiders have been left horrified after a video circulated online this week showing pigeons behind the counter of a Crust Pizza store.

Three birds flew into the Neutral Bay venue in Sydney's lower north shore and were seen feasting on ingredients like shredded cheese, much to the shock of onlookers.

"An unfortunate day"

The door was left open and no staff members can be seen in the footage, which has now been viewed nearly a million times on TikTok

A Crust spokesperson told The Daily Mail that an employee was working in the back kitchen and had "accidentally" left the door open.

"The pigeon[s] just flew in straight away," they said. "That was an unfortunate day… since the incident has happened, we have taken some precautions so it won't happen again."

"My last Crust order, ever"

People rushed to the comments to share their disgust.

"Never eating Crust pizza again," one user vowed.

"That's my last Crust order, ever," said a second.

"Yeah, won't be going there," a third agreed.

However, some people joked about the situation.

"Crust pizza... pigeon approved," one person laughed.

"They're just spicing up for the crust hot wings," a different Aussie quipped.

"Love that third pigeon.... he's like 'is this happening?'," another pointed out.

Meanwhile, on Reddit, others theorised about how this could have happened.

"How long does the shop have to be not attended for?" said one. "1. The pigeon to fly in, and not immediately fly out. 2. The pigeon to fly over the top of the counter. 3. Multiple pigeons to start eating [things]."

"Maybe all the workers took a break at the same time," someone else suggested.

"Who's running a shop with no one at front of house watching the door?" another puzzled Redditor asked.
