Mum's shock after 'sexy' find in Big W kids section

The mum shared an image of a "revealing" outfit and over 400 shoppers couldn't decide if they had a problem with it or if it was totally fine. 

Kids these days eh? They wear far better clothing compared to the matching velour tracksuits we grew up with. 

But it's not the cost of Air Jordans or White Fox jumpers that one Aussie mother has taken an issue with while out shopping recently. The designs that are hitting the kids' section in some retailers are getting a little too risque for her liking.

Mum's shock at kids section in Big W

The mother was left shocked and a little angry after passing through the kids' section of her local Big W store, thanks to one outfit displayed on the mannequin. 

The outfit included a mini black leather skirt and black and white striped top. In the rack beside it was a row of tight-fitting black tops which were slightly cropped with straps. 

It was enough to stop the mum in her tracks to take a photo and share in a private Facebook group to see if others agreed that felt slightly inappropriate.

"Thought it was Supre, but no it was just the kids' section of Big W," she vented.

But IS there anything wrong with this outfit? 

The post attracted over 400 comments from shoppers who appeared rather divided with the image shared in the post, which has now since been deleted. 

"I miss when kids used to dress like kids," one parent commented on the post. 

"Too much," another agreed. 

And another insisted to Kidspot that "kids and leather is never a good mix!"

The adults are the 'real' problem here

Meanwhile, other shoppers said the problem wasn't what was on the racks, it was how parents actually react to it. 

"Ever thought that you're the one sexualising kids in the clothes?" one person asked. 

"What's the issue?" another agreed. 

And another echoed that it looked totally fine and not as "sexy" as people were making it out to be. 

"Let's be real here, this is the tween section, not the kids section. We actually liked quite a few options and the leather skirt is very nice on. It's a nice length and there's nothing wrong with those tops either."
