'Is it underwear?': Bride's barely there designer dress shocks

A bride has been slammed online for her controversial wedding dress choice. 

The ensemble, worn by stylist, influencer and fashion designer Pernille Rosenkilde, included a halter bodice covered in feathers and a dramatic sheer skirt with high-waisted underwear underneath.

The Copenhagen-based entrepreneur designed her own gown and told Vogue Scandinavia she wanted it to be "elegant, classy and sexy" and toe the line between "chic and cheeky."

"I love wearing feathers and see-through fabrics," she told the publication. 

The Danish bride revealed that she spent 50 hours hand-dying each feather with tea to create the perfect "cloud-like shade" before cutting and tying them into small bunches and sewing them onto the top.

"It was worth it," she told Vogue. "The dress turned out to be everything I dreamed of, and Jeppe thought it was the most beautiful thing he’d ever seen."

However, her look caused quite a stir online, with many deeming it "inappropriate" for nuptials, especially at a church.

"This woman wore this to a church wedding, she turned up in underwear to a house of prayer," someone wrote after a photo of the dress was shared in a popular wedding shaming group on Facebook.

Despite the backlash, others said they admired the bold look.

"She looks f****** fire," claimed one fan.

"Eh. You don’t get to be an influencer by being boring," another concluded.
