The mum was asking for advice on social media but her question amused thousands.

Dog helps young boy by pulling out wobbly tooth

A $10 pet item has caused a stir in a Facebook group for a surprisingly X-rated reason.

It all started when an unsuspecting mum took to the Kmart Mums Australia page to share that she found the item — a dog paw cleaner — in her son's bedroom.

Confused because they don't have a dog, she asked the group if they could help shed some light on its potential use...

"I'm extremely worried right now"

"I found this Kmart dog paw cleaner in my son’s room yesterday, which is VERY weird because we literally don’t even have a dog?" she wrote.

"Does anybody know if the product is used by children as some sort of drug paraphernalia? I’m extremely worried right now. 😭"

The mum then attached a screenshot of the product, which looks like a clear tube with blue bristles inside.

People quickly ran to the comments to enlighten the mum.

"I'm sure his paw is real clean now"

While most assured it wasn't being used for drugs (phew), they had to break it to the mum that her son was likely using it as a sex toy.

"Probably using it for his private bits," one wrote.

"I was thinking the exact same thing," said another.

"Maybe he’s using it as a fleshlight? Not trying to be disgusting, but I don’t think it’s drug paraphernalia," suggested a woman.

"I’m sure his paw is real clean now," quipped someone else.

Then this user added, "Depending on how old he is, I’m thinking he’s using it for what everyone else is saying."

"C'mon mum, I’m a mum of four boys, and I knew straight away what that little bugger was up to," a fellow mum wrote.

Then others continued with the lighthearted banter, with one person saying, "Should definitely be in the sensory department as well...My partner has sensory issues. I might get him one as well."

Another said: "Creative! He's onto something."

"Well, that's one way of getting it done. The real toys are too expensive anyway," another replied.

"This wins the internet today," another woman concluded.
