'I feel duped': Woman catfished by Airbnb in hilarious way

"We were looking forward to the beautiful view," she said. So, can you see the problem?

Travel Nightmare: Influencer Exposes Airbnb Deception

Sonja Dennig, a popular travel blogger, recently experienced a shocking Airbnb blunder that left her in hysterics.

She had booked a room at a picturesque beachside holiday destination in Germany and was expecting breathtaking seaside views...

But the apartment that she arrived at looked far from the photos she had seen online.

"We're just in the basement"

Sharing on TikTok@sonnyloops shows herself pulling back the curtains, expecting to see the beach right outside. Instead, it was just an internal window that looked out into a small room with a poster of the ocean stuck to the walls.

To make the whole thing even funnier, artificial lights were shining onto the lifelike print in an attempt to replicate the sun.

The 28-year-old said that the faux beachside set-up had left her feeling "duped" and "catfished".

"We were looking forward to discovering this beautiful view," she said in the clip, which has now racked up over 3.8 million views.

"We thought: 'Wow, what a great view we have,' but look, it’s just a photo. We’re just in the basement."

She then jokes that the illuminated poster will still be there in the middle of the night when it's pitch black outside.

"Looks totally real"

"This has such dollhouse vibes," wrote one commenter.

"The most amazing thing is that the picture looks totally real," said another.

"I was fooled too," admitted a third.

"I need to see the picture on the Airbnb listing!" someone else insisted.

And another person told her to "just enjoy it, lol."

"It still looks cool, you have to give them credit," one user replied.

Then this commenter made the point that it's "better than if it was just a plain wall, they made the best of the situation. However, if they misleaded you, then that's a problem."
