IT’S enough to give anyone a serious case of mango madness.

The Fishers of Moulden were left dumbfounded on Saturday morning when they stepped outside to see their mango tree stripped of hundreds of mangoes.

Only one juicy fruit was left hanging on the tree and not a single half-eaten one on the ground.

Either there’s an expert mango thief on the loose or aliens were responsible, as the Palmerston residents were unable to explain how the tree in their backyard was ransacked.

Warren Fisher said friends were visiting on Saturday to pick some of the fruit.

“I can’t explain it. I just know that we had hundreds on Friday and the next day there was just one,” he said.

“There were no mangoes on the ground.”

His mother, Rita Fisher, reckoned humans couldn’t have been responsible.

“It’s not human because the tree’s too big to get up there. It’s a mystery,” she said. “There wasn’t even a chewed mango on the ground.”

Further adding to the mystery, Ms Fisher’s two dogs didn’t bark on the night.
