Sarah Palin’s son Trig Palin uses family dog as a foot stool, she congratulates him in Facebook gaffe

YEARS after Mitt Romney strapped the family dog to his car roof, fellow Republican Sarah Palin is under fire after her son used their dog as a step ladder.

WHAT is it with Republicans and their dogs? Years after Mitt Romney was slammed for strapping the family dog to the roofracks of his car, Sarah Palin has sent out a picture congratulating her son for using their dog as a step ladder.

In images posted to her Facebook account, the former Alaskan governor said the photos of her six-year-old son, Trig, were a “symbol of perseverance”.

“Happy New Year! May 2015 see every stumbling block turned into a stepping stone on the path forward,” she wrote in the post. “Trig just reminded me. He, determined to help wash dishes with an oblivious mama not acknowledging his signs for “up!”, found me and a lazy dog blocking his way. He found his stepping stone.”

But what was presumably supposed to be an inspiring New Year’s message about overcoming obstacles has angered animal rights activists.

“Purchase a step stool!!!! GEEZ!!! This angers me!” one commentator wrote.
