London police smash windows of car to save dog in extreme heat

ON ENGLAND’S hottest day of the year a dog was locked inside a car and left to die. Then the police came along to publicly shame the ‘idiot’ owner.

A DOG has been rescued by police in London, after officers found it locked inside a parked car on the hottest day of the year.

The London Evening Standard reports the dog was locked inside the vehicle at Finsbury Park, London, with no sign of the owner nearby.

According to their report, the animal was cowering on the floor on the driver’s side. He was lying in intense heat with no water.

Officers had no choice but to smash the windows and free the animal, who was taken to the RSPCA.

Sergeant Richard Berns took a photo of the smashed car window and distressed animal and posted it on Twitter.

The photo has since received praise from all around the world, with many people condemning the driver’s inhumane actions.

Britain’s recent heatwave has seen temperatures soar to 30C, which is about 9C above the average for this time of year. The heatwave was punctuated by a brief spell of wind, hail and heavy storms, before another heatwave is predicted for this week.
