YOU know a home has served its purpose when the owner says it is “vigorously” lived in.
That’s how television and radio personality, Kate Langbroek, describes her Melbourne cottage.
Langbroek and her husband Peter Allen Lewis weren’t turned on by the St Kilda pad when they first laid eyes on it more than 10 years ago. But a decade and four kids later, the family calls the 150 year old house their home sweet home.
“You don’t get the sense that it’s precious. It’s been vigorously lived in and it continues to be vigorously lived in,” Langbroek told realestate.com.au when she opened the home’s bright orange doors as part of the Australia Lives Here web series hosted by Jules Sebastian.
The ongoing video series has already peaked behind the doors of rocker sisters The Veronicas, star couple Braith and Jodi Anasta, plus fashionista and footy couple Nadia and Jimmy Bartel.
